IF : Legendary - Thor

I chose Thor for this week's topic. He seemed suitable, and I have been wanting to do another drawing of him for awhile now. This was done in graphite on 11 x 14 ", 90 lb, cream colored paper. The actual drawing is a full body drawing, but I cropped it for now because the whole picture does not fit into my scanner. I didn't feel like wrestling with my camera/lighting tonight, as I usually have to do with my larger drawings. I get so very frustrated with taking pictures of my work. I wished I had a better camera and decent lighting.

  3. I like this one. An understated depiction of the god. A light atmosphere for a powerful object. Could represent someones sense of ease at hammering through their challenges or problems whether past present of future.

A good platform for transitional object theorized by D.W. Winnicott.

  6. Faeorain,
Good work... I am a bit jealous because it never entered my mind to do an image of a mythical/comic book hero.
Thanks for the compliment on my blog.
    Have a nice day.

  16. nice. i always thought of Thor as a really big, bulky, muscular guy, but i like how you made him more lean. its kind of interesting when you think about it because the best fighters are almost always lean and muscular, because they are able to put more speed into their movements.
